Scoring systems

Currently, ITA only implements a single scoring system, concretely the one used at Kelesumo?! shop . If you are using a different system and would like to see it implemented on ITA, just send a mail to sachiel2014 arroba users.sourceforge.net .

System used at Kelesumo?!

The games at Kelesumo?! tournaments are missions with objectives, with scorings with maximums of (usually) 6 points. On the other hand, negative points can be gained, for example killing civilians. To stablish the ranking, a SOS is calculated based on:

  • If you have won, or lost, it matters if it has been for a few points of a lot of them (losing 1 to 2 is not the same as loosing 0 to 6).

  • How "good" are your opponents is taken into account. Winning a game versus a player who has won all his previous games is not the same as winning a player who has lost all his games.

The best way to see how it is exactly calculated is with an example. We have the player Agkay who has played against four players:

  • Agkay – Alien, 4 to 1. SOS: +3

  • Agkay – Palanka, 6 to 0. SOS: +6

  • Agkay – Jango, 2 to 4. SOS: -2

  • Agkay – Selenio, 5 to 1. SOS: +4

Now, the total is 4 + 6 + 2 + 5 = 17 points and a SOS of 3 + 6 – 2 + 4 = 11.

To this SOS, we have to sum the SOS of the other games of his opponents, except from the games that they have played against Agkay. For example, the player Alien:

  • Alien – Agkay, 1 to 4. SOS: -3

  • Alien – Jango, 3 to 3. SOS: 0

  • Alien – Raben, 4 to 2. SOS: +2

  • Alien – Palanka, 6 to 1. SOS: +5

So, Alien gives to Agkay a total SOS of 0 + 2 + 5 = 7.

And we do it for each opponent of Agkay:

  • Palanka, total SOS: +5

  • Jango, total SOS: +4

  • Selenio, total SOS: -2

Therefore, the final SOS of Agkay is 11 + 7 + 5 + 4 – 2 = 25.

With ITA, you just need to input the points of each player, and the software automatically calculates the total points and the resulting SOS.

On the first round, as all the players have 0 points and 0 SOS, it uses the "initial position", that is the current position at the shop's ranking or the Infinity official ranking .
